Thesis _ context & work plans

The things that foreign countries’ reporters or media often picture about korean internet culture is that the government wants to make all the barriers so that people can’t see outside of the world. However, I feel completely opposite when I see how korean people act. I have read some of the articles saying that Korean internet is controlled by a few giant companies like Samsung or Hyundai. Maybe that’s true but how about here? Some one says 70% of Korean people only use Naver..Ok, but how about here? Google, Yahoo and what?

Every country has their leading market companies. I think the problem is the behavior of people. I wouldn’t say that behavior of American people is so much better than Koreans. However the concept of the internet is connecting the world closer and tighter beyond the time difference and physical distance. Sharing your opinions with people you have never met becomes the point of using the Internet. However sharing my opinions with anonymous people by providing a few lines of comments is not working nowadays. Now even though there are some great(or making-sense..or arguable) opinions, just because they are in the comments section, I lose the trust or I simply don’t read them.

My goal has 2 directions. One is the environment that people can be nice to each other without some non-sense on the internet. The other one is to simply make people participate in the action of sharing their opinions so that people have various points and discuss more deeply.
